MAERCKER DISTRICT 60 PTO INFORMATION Your Parent-Teacher Organization was formed to strengthen the relationship between home and school in order that parents and teachers could work together in the education of our children. Please support your school's PTO. By supporting your PTO, you are enhancing the education of over 1,290 students. The PTO sponsors programs such as the 2nd grade trip to Drury Lane, 5th grade trip to White Pines, Science Fair, school assemblies by highly skilled educational companies, ballroom dance instructions, 8th grade dinner dance, room parties, and art awareness. These programs are intended to enhance our students' educational experience at Maercker District 60. The teachers at our schools are highly skilled individuals, who not only utilize the information from text books, but also take their approach to education beyond the books. Our teachers have creatively used the PTO programs as another means to approach the education of students, thereby strengthening their reading, writing, science, and math skills.
PTO funds have also supported the schools by purchasing equipment such as keyboards, library books, and playground equipment, along with various other supplies to benefit the students. The ability of the PTO to provide the most enhanced educational experience for our children is only limited by the effort which all of us as parents provide. Everyone is welcome to attend any PTO meeting. PTO meetings are generally held the 4th Monday of the month, 7:00 PM at Holmes School. See the PTO calendar for specific dates. If you wish to discuss a specific topic, please contact PTO co-presidents Tara Harper and Kristen Kruse at harperkruse.pto@gmail.com at least 5 days prior to a PTO meeting in order to be placed on the agenda. Anyone wishing to become an active volunteer please contact the PTO at harperkruse.pto@gmail.com for more information. Thank You For Your Support!
