CONGRATULATIONS TO GRACE McCABE
2nd PLACE AT STATE!
On Friday, Grace McCabe went to East Peoria to compete in the 2013 State Track Meet where she ran the 1600m race and took second place, a ½ second behind the winner! She also ran a Personal Best of 5 minutes and 20 seconds. Great job, Grace!

Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Track & Field Team for competing at the Sectional track meet in Arlington Heights.
The best performance of the day went to Grace McCabe who not only won her 1,600 meter race and her 800 meter race, but also qualified for the IESA State Track and Field meet in both events.
THREE SCIENCE FAIR PARTICIPANTS FROM WHMS EXCEL @ STATE

Bradley Frederick, Ravali Thimmapuram, and Geeth Tunuguntla
who were chosen out of 579 exhibitors, and represented Westview at the State Science Fair. Here are the results:
Geeth Tunuguntla - Silver award
Ravali Thimmapuran - Gold award and "Best in Category"
Bradley Frederick - Gold award and Bradley was voted one of 10 students from across the state to the IJAS Student Board for the 2013-2014 Science Fair! He will be the chairman of the Spirit and Games committee.
SCHOLASTIC BOWL TEAM WINS SECTIONAL; WENT TO STATE
The Westview Hills Scholastic Bowl team won their Sectional Meet and were honored to compete at the State Meet.
GIRLS SWIM TEAM TAKES 3RD; BOYS WIN 5TH PLACE
We are proud to announce that at the Conference Swim Meet, the Girls Team took 3rd place, and the Boys Team took 5th place.
ALL 12 FUTURE PROBLEM SOLVERS TEAMS WENT TO STATE
All 12 FPS teams from Westview went to the State Competition at Illinois State University. Congratulations to 1st Place Middle Division (7th & 8th Grade) Oral Competition winners: Isha Kukadia, Ravali Thimmapuram, and Ariane Cando. Their team also took 6th place honors, out of 53 teams in the state, in the Written Competition.
EARTH QUEST CLUB REPRESENTED WHMS @ ARGONNE
Our Earth Quest Club represented Westview at the Annual Argonne Car Competition with 2 lithium-powered cars. Our team leaders, Thomas Hysick and Aadil Kamran led us to an 11th & 12th place finish out of 35 cars.
CONCERT BAND RECEIVES SUPERIOR RATINGS AT
SOUTHEAST DUPAGE BAND FESTIVAL
Band Director, Karen Moffett, took her students to the Band Festival at Burr Ridge Middle School and all 3 judges gave them Superior ratings.
INK CARTRIDGE RECYCLING PROGRAM
Families can drop off used ink cartridges in a collection bin located in the Westview Office. The Earth Quest Club receives a yearly check for participation. Even though it is not a large check, we are helping reduce waste that ends up in landfills. We used the money collected last year for a luncheon to feed our club members during the annual "Locker Clean Out."
