BAND STUDENTS COMPETE IN AMERICAN WIND BAND COMPETITION; JENNIFER CASEY WINS SCHOLARSHIP AND WILL PERFORM WITH THE AMERICAN WIND BAND ON MAY 4
On Saturday, April 19, three students from Westview Hills competed in a scholarship competition sponsored by the American Wind Band in Downers Grove. To be eligible to compete, each student must have earned a perfect score on her solo at Solo and Ensemble Contest. Chloe Mason, Brianna Smith, and Jennifer Casey all performed for a panel of judges and were among the best performers of the day! Jennifer Casey won one of the $600 scholarships for private lessons and/or band camp, and will be featured in a performance by the American Wind Band on May 4th in Downers Grove. We are very proud of how all three of our musicians represented Westview Hills!

Congratulations to Josh Metoyer and Bobby O'Donnell for representing Westview Hills in fine fashion on 3/13 in the SDEAA All Star game at Jefferson Jr. High. Josh and Bobby were picked by their teammates because of their hard work and great play throughout the regular season. The boys did not disappoint. They were on the winning squad (47-41) and contributed significantly. O'Donnell scored 5 points and Metoyer connected for 9 points on three three-pointers! Way to make Westview Hills Nation proud!!!!
We are proud of our students who competed in the Regional Science Fair at Metea Valley High School on 3/15. Great job, Geeth Tunuguntla, Aparna Srinivasan, Gayatri Thirunarayanan, Harini Loganathan!
On March 8, our Concert Band was invited to perform as a clinic band at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. The students left Westview at 7:45 AM and were a part of a graduate level class for music teachers, taught by Dr. Charlie Menghini, an internationally known band director and clinician.
Then the concert band went on to perform that afternoon at the SouthEast DuPage Concert Band Festival at Eisenhower, where they received feedback and comments from three adjudicators, as well as a clinic.
It was a long, tiring day, and the band really brought their playing to the next level. They represented Westview well, and made us proud.
