IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR
Maercker SD 60, in partnership with Arbor Management, Inc., will continue to provide free meals as part of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) extension of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The program was extended to provide nutritious meals to children through September 2021. The unprecedented move will help ensure that children have access to nutritious food, regardless of their ability to pay.
Free Meals will be continue to be available to students who are returning to full-day, in-person learning (regardless of income eligibility)
Lunch, including one hot entrée, will be available to all students during the school day.
Breakfast will be distributed daily at the end of the school day to all students.
Curbside Free Meal Pick Up will continue to be available for students remaining in remote learning and ALL families in the community with children under 18
Maercker Intermediate School, Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Each Meal Packet will include 5 DAYS OF BREAKFAST AND LUNCHES INCLUDED.
The meals are available to ANY AND ALL families with household children 18 and under. Participants are not required to be Maercker SD 60 students nor do children need to be present at the pickup.
The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Illinois Stare Board of Education (ISBE).
Arbor Management, Inc. has been selected to manage the food service program for Maercker School District 60. Arbor strives to provide wholesome, nutrious meals to students with fast, friendly service. Their team of professional nutritonists, registered dietitians, and professional chefs has been working hard planning and preparing to serve the highest quality, nutrient-dense meals for our students.

National School Lunch Program
During normal operations, Maercker School District 60 participates in the National School Lunch Program. The National School Lunch Program is a federally-assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free breakfast and lunches to children each school day.
Families who believe they may qualify are encouraged to apply for free or reduced cost meal benefits. A link to the application can be found in the Links at the top of the page.
Meal Costs (includes 1 Milk):
Breakfast - $1.50
Reduced Breakfst - $0.30
Lunch - $3.00
Reduced Lunch - $0.40
The District offers the option of purchasing an extra milk on a daily basis for $0.30. Students at Westview (grades 6th-8th) also have ala carte choices for additonal purchase. We use the USDA Smart Snacks in School Standards for all items available for purchase. Students can only purchase items if they have a balance to cover the cost.
