Substitute Teachers Needed!

The DuPage ROE has scheduled the next session of the STS (Short Term Substitute) Training, to be held in our office at 421 N. County Farm Rd., Wheaton, IL  60187 on September 24, 2019. (See Attached. Clicking on "$50 Registration Fee" will take you to the registration page.) This training is required before the STS license holder can first work as a substitute teacher. It is not required for substitute teachers who hold the SUB, PEL, or PARA with bachelor degree, but is open to anyone interested in substitute teaching!
While this training is only required for the STS license holders, others are allowed to register and attend as well. We have had SUB and PEL license holders attend past sessions, and have received positive feedback from all educators. *If someone has a bachelor degree or higher then he/she would qualify for the SUB license, and should apply for that license not the STS.
(The STS license is a temporary license that qualifies someone with 60 hours or more of college credit to be employed as a substitute teacher. The license will be issued with an expiration date of 6/30/2023, and the STS license will no longer be available after that date. You can find more information on the STS license here:
The registration link for the STS Training session can be found here: OW136 session 006. For any registration questions, please contact our Center for Professional Learning at 630-407-6080. Please contact Liz Bryers at the DuPage County ROE with any licensure questions.
NOTE: D60 will reimburse the $50 training fee after ten days of work. Work days need not be consecutive. Pay rate is $100 per day for the first ten days and $110 per day thereafter.
