Substitute Teachers Needed!

The DuPage ROE has scheduled a new session of our STS (Short Term Substitute) Training on August 19, 2019, 8-11 am at our office (421 N. County Farm Rd., Wheaton, IL  60187). An STS license holder must complete this (or comparable) training prior to working as a substitute teacher. This event will satisfy that requirement for STS license holders. The cost is $50. Educators do not need to hold a valid STS license to attend. Many attend to get information on the license before they apply for it.

While this training is only required for the STS license holders, others are allowed to register and attend as well. We have had SUB and PEL license holders attend past sessions, and have received positive feedback from all educators.

(The STS license is a temporary license that qualifies someone with 60 hours or more of college credit to be employed as a substitute teacher. The license will be issued with an expiration date of 6/30/2023, and the STS license will no longer be available after that date. You can find more information on the STS license here: https://www.isbe.net/Pages/Educator-Licensure-Requirements.aspx.)

The registration link for the STS Training session can be found here: OW136 session 006. For any registration questions, please contact our Center for Professional Learning at 630-407-6080. Please contact Liz Bryers at the DuPage County ROE with any licensure questions.

NOTE: D60 will reimburse the $50 training fee after ten days of work. Work days need not be consecutive. Pay rate is $100 per day for the first ten days and $110 per day thereafter.
