Steel erection has started and the building is starting to take shape. The steel columns and beams have been erected, and the construction of the second floor and roof decks has begun. During the week of March 11, you will see the first floor of the building “tented” to allow heating of the first floor. This will help to thaw the ground so underground work can begin. The attached picture is a snip from the time-lapse camera that shows the current progress of the work.
Steel was scheduled to be delivered on Monday, March 4, but due to the forecast of extreme cold temperatures in the morning, the iron workers will not be working on Monday. Providing the weather holds out, the steel is scheduled to be delivered the following day (3/5) and the steel columns and beams will begin to be erected at Westview. The masonry work (construction of the walls) is scheduled to begin mid-week. The bid documents for the parking lot and site work are being finalized and are scheduled to be on the street for bid on March 11.
