D60 Financial Information Hub
Facing Our Financial Challenges Together
District 60 is facing growing financial challenges that affect how we plan for the future.
Our costs are increasing faster than inflation, while state funding has not kept pace. As a result, the district has spent more than it has taken in over the past several years in order to continue meeting our commitments to students and the community.
We have already taken steps to control costs while protecting classroom instruction. However, additional actions will be needed to ensure the district’s long-term financial stability.
A Financial Working Group - made up of teachers, administrators, union leaders, and Board of Education members - is currently reviewing our finances and exploring possible solutions as we plan for next year’s budget. We also want to make sure families and community members understand the challenges we face and have opportunities to stay informed and engaged.
Through this Financial Information Hub, we will share regular updates, explain how we arrived at this point, answer common questions, and outline ways you can participate in the process. This page will serve as a central place for information as we work to be transparent, proactive, and clear.
