The D60 Board of Education has established three standing committees to dive deeper into different district operational areas. These committees meet monthly and currently have board members and administrative team members on them. These committees serve in an advisory capacity to the full Board of Education.
The committees are expanding to involve voices from the community and we are asking for parents and community members to consider getting involved in order to bring a wider perspective into the process.
Review the description of each committee and meeting schedule and apply to be considered where you feel you would best be able to serve.
Policy and Community Relations Committee - supports the Board of Education by reviewing matters related to district policy, governance, community relations, and engagement. The committee's work helps inform Board decision-making, strengthen transparency and trust, and foster productive relationships with the broader community, including local government partners.
Typically meets on the second Thursday of the month from 6-7 p.m.
Finance & Facilities Committee - supports the Board of Education by reviewing matters related to the district’s budget, financial planning, fiscal stewardship, and facilities. The committee's work helps inform Board decision-making and supports the responsible management of district resources in alignment with the district’s priorities and long-term goals.
Typically meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 6-7 p.m.
Teaching & Learning Committee - supports the Board of Education by reviewing matters related to curriculum, instruction, assessment, student learning, and educational programming. The committee’s work helps inform Board decision-making and supports high-quality teaching, meaningful learning experiences, and positive outcomes for all students.
Typically meets on the first Tuesday of the month from 6-7 p.m.
